Lots of gravel, potholes, and unpredictable weather conditions. And don’t even get me started on the sheep! They're everywhere! Rent a 4x4 vehicle, especially if you plan on venturing off the main road. This was another mistake I made. I rented a smaller car, and I regretted it. I spent ages checking for suitable car hire before I left, I wished I'd spent more time on that!

Isländische Kultur – Eintauchen und Genießen! (Icelandic Culture – Immerse Yourself and Enjoy!)

Beyond the stunning landscapes, Icelandic culture is fascinating. The people are friendly and welcoming, the food is… interesting (fermented shark, anyone?), and the geothermal pools are pure magic! I spent hours in the Blue Lagoon, just relaxing and soaking in the mineral-rich waters. It was pure bliss. One thing I recommend: Learn a few basic Icelandic phrases. Even just "Takk" (thank you) and "Halló" (hello) goes a long way. It shows respect and makes a big difference.
