Man, it’s a bummer. I just heard the news – Sarrasani Zirkus is staying closed. For real? It’s like, a huge piece of German circus history, gone. I remember going as a kid, totally blown away by the whole spectacle. The elephants, the acrobats, the atmosphere… it was magical. Seriously, the sheer scale of the thing was mind-blowing. I still remember the smell of popcorn and sawdust mixing in the air – it’s crazy how a scent can bring back such vivid memories.

My Sarrasani Memories (and a near-disaster)

One time, my dad took me to a Sarrasani show in Munich. I was probably eight, maybe nine. I was obsessed with the clowns. I thought they were the absolute coolest. Anyway, during the intermission, I got super separated from my dad. I mean, really separated. Like, total panic mode. I was a small kid in a HUGE crowd of people. I started crying, of course. It was a total nightmare.

Luckily, a really nice usher found me, and eventually, after what felt like FOREVER, I was reunited with my dad. He was totally freaking out, understandably. That taught me a valuable lesson, though. Always stay close to your guardian, especially in big crowds. And maybe don't get so distracted by the clowns! It's funny looking back, but man, that was scary.
